The idea behind the "circular egg" project is as simple as it is innovative, capable of virtuously transforming an important part of the agro-industrial supply chain.
Here at BEF Biosystems we've been working on it for about three years and will continue to do so thanks to the funds from the tender #NODES that we just won together with FANTOLINO and University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo for the Regione Piemonte.The project involves food that can no longer be sold to customers being collected by us to feed larvae that will become chicken feed, and thus healthier eggs. From a 50-gram egg we recover 50 grams of organic waste
Studies conducted in cooperation with the ISTITUTO ZOOPROFILATTICO SPERIMENTALE LAZIO E TOSCANA M. ALEANDRI have confirmed the elevation of nutritional and protein intake due to quality feed, reduction of stress in hens, and less conflict between individuals.
For these reasons, our efforts will continue in this direction.
